CFD-Vehicle Aerodynamics
On this page
Overview
The aerodynamic characteristics of ground vehicles has a pronounced effect on acceleration, speed, fuel efficiency and handling. CFD-Vehicle Aerodynamics helps in evaluating the feasibility of new designs for vehicles. This field uses numerical and experimental techniques for accurate predictions and understanding the flow behaviour. Computational vehicle aerodynamics are time-dependent simulations that are used for the improvement of vehicle properties with flow control or aerodynamic shape. Through the use of CATIA for geometric modelling, ICEMCFD for grid generation and FLUENT for analysis, several industry specific problems can be solved. This course empowers students to conduct independent analysis related to vehicle aerodynamics. |
